Audio Profile Editor is a separate application within the Cinegy Air installation that provides an easy, convenient and intuitive interface for creating and editing audio profiles: audio mapping profiles, audio ducking profiles, and audio encoder profiles.

Audio Profile Editor

The Audio Profile Editor window consists of two parts. All the profiles, divided into groups are located on the left, whilst the right part of the window displays information about the selected profile and commands for managing it.

Note
The default profile is displayed in bold in the corresponding profiles drop-down list in Audio Profile Editor.

There are three groups of profiles:

When expanding each group, the list of the corresponding profiles is displayed.

audio_profile_editor_load

To load a previously created profile in the XML format, press the "Load" button and browse for the required file using the common "Open" dialog.

audio_profile_editor_save

Having finished working with the profiles, press the "Save" button to save the audio matrix presets in a separate XML file. The common "Save As" dialog will open asking you to specify the name and location of the XML file.

audio_profile_editor_ok audio_profile_editor_cancel

Press "OK" to save the changes and close the Audio Profile Editor window. If no changes should be applied, press the "Cancel" button.

To have custom profiles available during the Cinegy Air playlist composing, the saved audio matrix presets XML file should be specified in the Cinegy Air Configurator.

Important
Refer to the Audio Settings section for more information about specifying audio matrix presets in the Cinegy Air Configurator.

Audio Mapping Profiles

The profiles for mapping audio inputs to audio outputs are managed in the "Audio Mapping Profiles" category of Audio Profile Editor.

Sample Profile

A sample audio mapping profile is included by default to provide a starting point for creating a custom profile.

Choose the "Sample" subcategory in "Audio Mapping Profiles"; on the right the details and default description of the selected profile will be displayed:

Audio_mapping_profiles_sample

To view the audio matrices in the "Matrix Editor", use the Edit profile… link.

Creating a New Profile

To create a new audio mapping profile, select the title of the corresponding section and use the Create new profile link:

Audio_mapping_profiles_new

The default information of the newly created profile will be displayed on the right side of the window.

Audio_mapping_profiles_new_details

You can specify the profile description by entering the desired text in the "Description" field.

Audio Matrix Editor

Press the Edit profile… link to proceed with specifying the profile parameters in the following window that appears:

Audio_matrix_editor

The Matrix Editor provides a graphic interface for routing and mixing different audio input channels to different audio outputs. Each audio input can be routed to any combination of audio outputs. Several audio input channels can be connected to one audio output channel at the same time. In this case, the signals are mixed together.

To change the default profile name, enter a new one in the "Name" field.

Selecting the "Default" checkbox will appoint the edited profile a default one to be used for new items added to the Cinegy Air playlist. The default profile is displayed in bold in the corresponding profiles drop-down list in Audio Profile Editor.

The "Dimension" drop-down list allows you to choose the audio matrix grid size, i.e. a number of input and output channels.

By default each output channel is set to receive only the signal from the corresponding input channel.

Matrix_Editor_adjustment

To create a mix, use the corresponding adjustment controls. While keeping the left mouse button pressed over the control, move the mouse left or right; the current value is shown as a decimal below the adjustment knob. The minimum, maximum and middle values can be set simply by clicking on the desired value displayed around the adjustment knob. The exact value can also be entered in the field below.

The zero value means that the input channel is routed to the output channel without any additional mixes. The "-100" value excludes the input channel from mixing and deactivates the control.

Having specified the necessary input-to-output relations, press "OK" to finish the profile creation.

To delete a profile, select it in the "Audio Mapping Profiles" list on the left and use the Remove profile link.

Audio Ducking Profiles

The audio ducking profiles are necessary for using the audio ducking feature.

Important
Refer to the Audio Ducking paragraph for detailed information on audio ducking.

The process of creating and editing audio ducking profiles is similar to that for audio mapping profiles.

The Matrix Editor for audio ducking profile looks as follows:

Audio_matrix_editor_ducking

The "Main Level" slider defines the audio attenuation level of the main signal (all channels) before merging it with the ducking signal.

The matrix specifies the mixing pattern of the ducking signal.

Audio Encoder Profiles

The "Audio Encoder Profiles" section allows you to manage AC-3 Encoder profiles:

Audio_matrix_editor_ac3

To create a new profile, select the "Audio Encoder Profiles" section on the left of Audio Profile Editor and use the Create new profile link; the following information will be displayed on the right:

Audio_matrix_editor_ac3_new

Enter the name and description of the new profile in the corresponding fields.

The metadata channel number, encoding type, and the summary information about the encoder settings are displayed in the separate section. Use the Edit… link to change the AC-3 encoder settings in the special dialog box that appears.

Important
Refer to the AC-3 Encoding Settings paragraph in the Cinegy Playout Manual for a detailed description of the AC-3 Encoder settings.

audio_profile_editor_add_channel

To add a new metadata channel, press the "Add channel" button. You can change the virtual metadata channel number from the drop-down list if necessary. Metadata from items in the Cinegy Air playlist will be recorded to this channel.

To remove the specified metadata channel, use the corresponding Remove link.

audio_profile_editor_remove_profile

In order to delete the whole profile, press the "Remove profile" button.
