|Cinegy Archive Service (CAS) is a service providing access to the Cinegy Archive database. Its installation should precede the Cinegy Archive Transfer installation. Cinegy Archive Service can be downloaded from the Cinegy portal.|
To install Cinegy Archive Transfer on your computer open the "Cinegy Archive Transfer" installation folder and run the "Setup.exe" file. The installation wizard appears:
Press "Next" to continue or "Cancel" to quit. Read and accept the license agreement and press "Next" to proceed with the installation process:
Define the Cinegy Archive Transfer installation directory and press "Next" to proceed:
As the following step, you will be asked to enable and configure the Cinegy Archive Transfer Log. Select the "Enable logs" checkbox and press the "Configure" button.
The following dialog will be launched:
Log file path – the destination for the log file. By default, logs are written to the folder where Cinegy Archive Service is installed. You can change the directory via the "Browse" button or by entering a new path via the keyboard.
Rolling style – the frequency of the log file creation: monthly, daily, hourly.
Maximum file size – the maximum size of the log file in kB. Increase or decrease the default value of 100 kB by pressing the buttons correspondingly or entering the desired value via the keyboard. When the log size exceeds the defined value, the current log will be archived and a new log file will be created to continue recording the logging data.
Maximum backups – the maximum number of archived log files within the period of time defined as the rolling style (per month / day / hour). Increase or decrease the default value 10 by pressing the buttons correspondingly or entering the desired value via the keyboard. When the defined maximum backup number is exceeded, the oldest archived logs will be deleted.
Press "OK" to save your settings.
In the next window, press "Change" to define the path to folder you want Cinegy Archive Transfer to be installed to. If you want it installed to the default folder, press "Next".
You will be informed that Cinegy Archive Transfer is ready to be installed. Press "Install" to continue. If you need to change installation settings, press "Back".
The progress bar shows the progress of the installation process. Wait until installation is completed, the following dialog launches to inform you about successful completion:
Deselect the "Launch Cinegy Archive Transfer" checkbox if you don’t need the application to be started automatically. Press "Finish" to exit setup wizard.
After installation the Cinegy Archive Transfer icon appears on your desktop, double-click it to start the application.
When Cinegy Archive Transfer is started for the first time, plug-in settings dialog is launched automatically. It consists of the following sections: main settings, buffers limit, reader quotas, and intervals.
Specify the following main settings in the corresponding fields:
Service host – use the keyboard to type in the service host. The "localhost" is defined as the default value. It is required to change this field only in case if Cinegy Archive Service is installed on a machine different from the one where Cinegy Archive Transfer is installed.
Virtual directory – use the keyboard to type in the virtual directory, that is used by service hosting under IIS.
Connection schema – choose the required schema from the drop-down list.
Port number – use the keyboard to enter the required port number.
Use discovery – select "True" from the drop-down list to enable connection of Cinegy Archive Transfer to Cinegy Archive Service in network.
Compress messages – select "True" from the drop-down list to compress messages.
Use router – select "True" from the drop-down list to use load balancing router.
Overwrite package – select "True" from the drop-down list to enable overwriting the existing packages with the repeated name without confirmation.
Define the following buffers limit parameters in this section:
maxBufferSize – maximum size for the buffer that receives messages from the channel.
maxBufferPoolSize – maximum amount of memory that is allocated for use by the manager of the message buffers that receive messages from the channel.
maxReceivedMessageSize – maximum size for the received messages.
Specify the following parameters here:
maxStringContentLength – maximum string length returned by the reader.
maxArrayLength – maximum allowed array length.
In this section define the necessary time intervals:
sendTimeout – interval of time provided for a write operation to complete before the transport raises an exception.
closeTimeout – interval of time provided for a connection to close before the transport raises an exception.
openTimeout – interval of time provided for a connection to open before the transport raises an exception.
receiveTimeout – interval of time provided for a read operation to complete before the transport raises an exception.
Use these buttons to switch between categorized and alphabetical view of the plug-in settings.
Press "OK" to apply your plug-in settings.
Once you have completed plug-in settings, Cinegy Archive Transfer is ready to be used.
Choose the operation you need to perform – exporting data from source database to the target folder on your machine or importing data from the source folder on your computer to the defined database. In the export operation mode it is necessary to specify the source connection and transfer package; in the import operation mode – target connection and source package. If you need to change the connection settings, press "Advanced Settings".
The Transfer CAS connection license is required to run Cinegy Archive Transfer. If the valid license is missing, the following licensing error message appears:
