Cinegy Capture Control is a Windows-based tool designed as a complex solution for capture purposes. Its conception covers various configuration models such as Cinegy Archive integration mode and standalone workflow without involving the Cinegy MAM architecture.
This document describes work in standalone mode.

To start Cinegy Capture Control, go to Start > Cinegy > Cinegy Capture Control. The client application will be launched:
Connecting to Cinegy Capture Services
The Servers panel provides access to the controls for adding and removing the server(s) to be used for capturing, as well as managing the Cinegy Capture Engine(s) connected to the server(s).
Press the button on the Servers panel to add a machine to be used for capturing; the following dialog box appears:
In the "Name" field, enter the appropriate name for the server being currently added. Use the "Computer" drop-down list to select the required machine with the Cinegy Capture Engine(s) installed; press "OK".
The server will be added along with its nested Capture Engine(s) installed via Cinegy Capture Manager. Select the corresponding Cinegy Capture Engine service(s) to be connected:
Cinegy Capture Engine templates are created and customized on the Templates panel. Each Engine template can be configured individually for each Cinegy Capture Engine service.
To create a new template for a certain Engine, select the latter in the list and press the button; Template Editor will be launched.
|You can create as many Engine templates for each Engine service as you need to meet your capturing requirements.|
The configuration groups and parameters to be set up depend on the template type chosen: standalone or archive.

When the "Standalone" template type is selected, Template Editor looks as follows:
In the "General settings" and "Timecode analyzer settings" sections, specify parameters for your recording session.
In the "Media Codecs" section, press the button to add new video, audio and data codecs to be used by the current template for the recording session. All available codecs are listed as follows:
In the corresponding sections, select the required video, audio and data codecs. To select several codecs within each section, click them holding the Ctrl key down or use Shift+ click to select a group of consecutive items.
|The list of available codecs may vary depending on your Engine TV format specified via Cinegy Capture Manager. The audio and data codecs are only available when audio and data streams are properly configured via Cinegy Capture Manager for your Engine service.|
Once you have selected the required codecs and pressed "OK", they are represented in a table view as it is shown below:
Some codecs have additional settings. Press "Setup" next to the corresponding codec to specify its parameters.
In the "Wrappers / Outputs" section, add wrappers to be used for output by the current recording session template by pressing the button. The list with all available wrappers appears:
Here select the required wrapper(s) from the list the same way as you did for media codecs. After you select the required wrappers and press "OK", they will be represented in a table view as it is shown below:
All the wrappers are displayed in red until they are properly configured; do the following:
Select the required wrapper from the list.
For some wrappers that have additional settings, press "Setup" next to the corresponding one and specify its parameters.
Select the desired codecs from the lists of compatible video/audio/data codecs that have been previously added to the "Media Codecs" list:
Press the button next to the "Output" field to specify the output location. In the "Add Output" window that appears, press the button and browse for the desired location:
Set the "Critical output" option to mark the required location as critical output meaning that the failure of this output should cause the recording session to abort.Note
It is possible to add several output locations for each wrapper.Important It is possible to define mapped drive as the output location.
Multiple wrappers with individually configured connected codec(s) can be added for each template as follows:
Any number of output streams, formats and files can be supported in standalone mode. All the encoder parameters should be set individually for each encoder and wrapper.
Having specified all the necessary capturing session parameters, press the "OK" button to finish the template creation process. All the templates are automatically checked for validity and have respective indication (valid or invalid):
Hovering the mouse pointer over the "Invalid" indicator displays the tooltip describing a problem.
