The Cinegy Convert Agent Manager configuration can be adjusted in the "Settings" dialog launched via the corresponding command from the right-click menu of the taskbar icon:
Alternatively, you can press the button on the bottom right part of the window and choose the "Settings" command.
The dialog contains groups of settings described further in this article:
Agent hang timeout – timeout for response from the agent in the hours:minutes:seconds format. In case the agent fails to report its progress, it is forcedly stopped and marked as failed on the "Tasks" tab as follows:
Preview update frequency – preview update rate for a task being currently processed (in the hours:minutes:seconds.frames format).
Allowed Convert licenses – the maximum number of licenses allowed for the agent.
Allow archive integration – with this checkbox selected, the agent is able to process tasks in integration with a Cinegy Archive database.
Allowed Dolby Digital licenses – with this checkbox selected, the agent is allowed to process tasks with decoding Dolby® Digital audio.
The specified number of Dolby® Digital licenses is obtained from the license dongle on application start and can be changed in the dedicated field:Important
The Dolby® Digital Decoder 5.1 license is required for processing tasks with decoding Dolby® Digital audio.Note No license is required for the "Downmix to stereo" mode and "Mute" option.
Allowed Dolby E licenses – with this checkbox selected, the agent is allowed to process tasks with decoding Dolby® E audio.
The specified number of Dolby® E licenses is obtained from the license dongle on application start and can be changed in the dedicated field:Note
The "Downmix to stereo" mode is not topical for Dolby® E decoding.Caution The number of concurrent tasks with Dolby® E audio and Dolby® Digital audio decoding corresponds to the number of licenses obtained from the dongle. Refer to the Upgrading USB Dongle License Keys article for more details.
Free memory limit – the minimum free memory in MB required for the agent to process tasks rapidly and smoothly. When free memory falls shorter than this value, the sign will appear on the bottom of the window, and the tooltip will be displayed with the mouse pointer hovered over it:
The memory load check is performed every 30 seconds, and in case the limit is exceeded, task requests will be blocked and can be resumed only if the next check records that memory is within the limit. The respective message is added to the log file each time the limit is exceeded.
PCS balance tasks by priority – with this option selected, the agent will receive a new task if it has free slots and there is enough CPU capacity available for processing. When the CPU limit defined by the "PCS CPU Threshold" parameter is reached, the agent will receive only tasks having priority higher than of those being currently processed. The sign will appear on the bottom of the window, and the tooltip will be displayed with the mouse pointer hovered over it:
With this option disabled, no new tasks will be taken by the agent if the CPU limit is reached.
PCS CPU Threshold – the highest value of the CPU load in %, at which the agent can take a new task with the same priority as of those being currently processed.
Cinegy Convert Agent Manager requires valid established connection to Cinegy Process Coordination Service.
Endpoint – by default, the configuration is set to connect to Cinegy PCS installed locally on the same machine (localhost) and use the default port 8555. In case PCS is installed on another machine or another port should be used, the endpoint value should be modified:
machine name – specifies the name or IP address of the machine where PCS is installed;
port – specifies the connection port configured in PCS settings.
Consume task frequency – time interval for an agent to report to Cinegy PCS it is ready to take a new task for processing.
Heartbeat frequency – time interval for Cinegy PCS to report it is running properly.
Services update frequency – time interval for Cinegy PCS to update information about the internal services used by clients.
Task sync frequency – time interval in which Cinegy PCS and the agent are exchanging information about tasks being processed.
