The "Consolidate via virtual VT" feature is similar to "Consolidate to tape". The difference is, Cinegy Desktop works in the slave mode. This makes the computer appear as a VTR for any external NLE system or VT device. This approach allows you to record directly to any NLE which supports ingest from VT, saving you time and tapes.
Choose the "Consolidate" > "Virtual VT" command from the right-click menu. The following dialog box appears:
|The main parameters for the "Consolidate via virtual VT" command are the same as parameters for the "Consolidate to tape" command. Refer to the Consolidate to Tape article to find the description of the "Consolidate to tape" controls and parameters.|
The playback buttons allow you to play the source material from the small timeline for previewing and quality control.
The "Slave Mode" button switches Cinegy Desktop to the RS-422 slave mode. In this mode, the program is controlled by an external NLE program or VT recorder.
Depress the "Slave Mode" button in order to leave the slave mode.
|Cinegy Desktop emulates the AMPEX CVR-60 player machine. If your equipment fails to recognize it automatically, select the device manually.|
