Cinegy Workspace allows you to display the system timecode in the player as well as the original timecode.
Original Timecode (OTC)
The Original Timecode (OTC) is the timecode read from the tape (or from the time generator in the case of a live ingest). It is represented in the top left part of the player:
System Timecode (STC)
The System Timecode (STC) is the timecode assigned to the material during ingest. Typically, it starts from 00:00:00:00 and is always continuous throughout the entire ingest session. Technically, the STC is the frame number in the corresponding video file. It is represented in the top right part of the player:
There are several different display options for the OTC and STC. The default mode is "Absolute".
TC for every frame corresponding to the original material
The duration of the current clip is always displayed in the middle of the upper panel of the player:
If In and Out marks are set, the In-Out interval duration will be displayed:
Using Timecodes to Find Frames
Any time during editing, you can cue forward and backward from the current position in the clip by a specified number of minutes, seconds and frames using positive or negative frame offset values:
To cue forward from the current position, enter + and the offset value using the numeric keypad.
To cue backward from the current position, enter – and the offset value using the numeric keypad.
In drop-frame NTSC, certain timecodes are not possible, such as 00;10;00;00. Please be aware of this when working with NTSC clips.
Copying a Current Timecode
Cinegy Workspace allows you to save a current timecode for its further usage according to your needs.
To do this, right-click anywhere in the player window and choose the "Copy current timecode" option:
Then move to the metadata part of the bin interface, right-click the metadata field where you wish to paste the current timecode and choose among the following context menu commands:
Append current timecode – the copied timecode will be added to the metadata that already exists in the selected field.
Insert current timecode – the copied timecode will replace the metadata that already exists in the selected field.
Please note, that to paste the copied timecode you should have the corresponding editing rights. Otherwise, the error message will appear informing you that this action is not allowed.
Refer to the Nodes Explorer article in the Cinegy Enterprise Manager Manual for details on user rights management.
Pasting the copied timecode is enabled only for the "String" and "Text" description fields. For other metadata field types this context menu is not available.
Refer to the Descriptors, Presets article in the Cinegy Enterprise Manager Manual for details on the metadata fields types.
