Breaking Changes

  • If playout channels have a name specified, as-run logs will now include that name in the file name. Unnamed channels retain the previous behaviour.

  • Cinegy Type is now end-of-life and is not officially supported in this build.

  • Audio fades now accompany video fades between items and this change might require downstream adjustments to accomodate the integrated fade.

  • Engine Configuration files will be updated after first run, and will not be compatible with previous versions. Please backup any application configuration files before installation in case of roll-back. Configuration files can be located in the C:\ProgramData\Cinegy folder by default.

  • NDS EPG integration is now End-of-Life, and is removed from v14 software. Pre-existing customers will continue to be supported via Cinegy Professional Services, but no new deployments will be accepted and documentation / installers are no longer generally shipped.

  • When running as a Windows Service, Cinegy Type will not render any items since OpenGL is not supported when running as a Windows service. This is topical for secondary events but also for Type objects embedded in sequences generated within Cinegy Desktop. Windows Service mode is only tested and recommended on Windows server 2016 or later.

Important Known Issues

  • Nvidia RTX and other Turing-generation GPU boards no longer support interlace H.264 encoding. This applies to all versions of any Cinegy software supporting GPU encoding and is a hardware limitation of the Nvidia boards. Pascal and earlier boards are not affected. If using GPU accelerated Nvidia features, please be careful to match your settings to the capabilities of your board.

  • The EAS Gateway and Prompter applications are missing some packages inside the support folder. Please install Cinegy Air Control on any machine needing these applications first, then install these applications via the MSI packages instead of the setup.exe application.

  • I-Frame only HEVC streams are not currently supported or decoded

  • Some MP4 files fail to render the final frame in the file, and may get stuck in a loop trying to proxy. It is recommended customers with MP4-based workflows wait until v14.1 or carefully test their MP4 files before proceeding to production.

  • Some JPEG2000 OP1A files will fail to read correctly, and will not proxy. JPEG2000 support should be considered experimental at this time.
