Release Notes

The Cinegy Subtitling Service is a part of the common Cinegy workflow and can be used together with Cinegy Air for on-the-fly embedding of DVB Bitmap and/or Teletext data into a source IP stream, based on a subtitle file or Live (by using the Newfor protocol).

This service is implemented as a sidecar to the main Cinegy Air service.

 To work with the Cinegy Subtitling Service, the installation of PowerShell version 7.2 or higher is required.

Major Improvements

  • introduced a new speech recognition solution, currently available as a beta feature. Access to this feature is available upon request through the Cinegy Support Team.

  • added support for non-European languages in DVB subtitles (US 7675)

  • introduced the "CompositionPageId" parameter to the configuration for DVB subtitles (US 7633, ticket XMR-626-91696)

  • introduced the EmptyPayloadWhenNoData option for the DVB encoder to generate empty PES packets (US 7634, ticket MZU-261-36238)

  • introduced the "SyncToInput" parameter to synchronize the output stream’s clock with the input stream timing and prevent stream shifts when the system clock of the service is not aligned with the clock of the source (defect 17313, ticket TON-304-94187)

  • improved accuracy of black and white color rendering for DVB subtitles (defect 16984, ticket VOO-803-48969)

  • fixed issue with handling the / symbol in the playlist item name (defect 17218, ticket MAE-184-23787)

  • fixed issue with reading of subtitle files with empty timestamps (defect 17406)

  • fixed issue with teletext encoding that caused redundant space to appear before formatted text

  • fixed issues in the DVB encoder caused by long text line leads to invalid encoding of a bitmap (defect 17439)

  • fixed issue in the DVB encoder caused subtitle aliasing when rendered over transparent backgrounds (defect 17241, ticket ESE-151-78058)

  • resolved a crash triggered during the processing of .stl subtitle files containing the <box> tag (defect 17112)

  • fixed issue with region_version_number incrementation in DVB encoder that could lead to incorrect stream decoding

  • fixed issue where subtitle text color persisted from the last defined value until a new color was specified in the .stl file (defect 17210)

Important Known Issues

  • DVB subtitles in streams of 50p and 59.94p TV formats may be dropped in some cases of bitrate overflow (defect 16727).
