The Preview area of Cinegy Capture Control consists of two parts: a large preview of the selected channel (which may be optionally hidden) and several engine previews, which always show the low-frame-rate feedback preview from the engines after the corresponding Capture Service is selected on the engines panel:

Preview Mode

Real-time Preview Mode

By default, the stream preview for Cinegy Capture engines is displayed at a rate of 1 frame per second to minimize network traffic and CPU usage. However, if the real-time preview is configured and enabled for the engine in Cinegy Capture Manager, you can activate it. Just right-click on your engine or anywhere within the preview window and select the desired preview mode from the context menu:

Realtime_preview_mode
  • All preview windows – plays the incoming video in real-time in all engine previews on the engines panel and the main preview.

  • Current channel only – plays the incoming video in real-time only in the currently selected engine preview on the engines panel and on the main preview; all other engine previews are displayed in low-frame-rate preview mode (with a 1-second update rate).

  • None – plays the incoming video in low-frame-rate preview mode (with a 1-second update rate) for all engine previews on the engines panel and the main preview.

Note
It is recommended to use either "Current channel only" or "None" preview mode to reduce system load.

Video Streams

Each engine supports multiple video stream previews.

Right-click your engine or anywhere within the preview window and select the appropriate video stream preview from the context menu:

Video_streams
Note
By default, the first active video stream preview configured via the Preview Settings configuration window is played in the preview window.

In the preview window, hover the mouse pointer over the preview item in the list to display a tooltip with information, such as the URL address or input name according to its type of preview:

Audio VU Meter

When working in real-time preview mode, audio playback is available. To display the VU meters over your preview, right-click anywhere within the preview window and select the "Show audiometers" option:

Show_audiometers

The audio indicators will also appear in the corresponding engine preview within the engines panel and can be individually activated or deactivated from the context menu of the engine.

The VU meters are designed to help users maintain consistent audio volume levels. Each indicator corresponds to a specific audio channel and is displayed on the right side of the preview window. The number of audio indicators displayed in the preview window depends on the number of available input audio channels configured via the Capture Engine Configuration wizard.

The scale has the following color scheme for the instant level display (the values in the given scale are defined by a user):

  • Green – below 0 dB

  • Yellow – 0 to 4 dB

  • Red – above 4 dB

The zero level of the VU meter is adjustable to the requirements of your organization. Use the Capture Engine Configuration wizard to set up the zero dB level.

There is an individual speaker button below each audio scale. The speaker buttons allow the user to mute corresponding audio channels.

On_audio

To mute audio, press the speaker button.

No_audio

Press this button again to resume audio playback.

VANC Data Display

The embedded VANC (Vertical Ancillary Data Space) data can be displayed on the preview panel. To enable this feature, right-click anywhere within the preview window and select the "Show VANC" option. The additional panel will be displayed at the bottom of the window showing the available VANC data:

VANC

The following VANC information is available in Cinegy Capture Control:

  • CC (Closed Captions) – indicates if closed captions are present in the current media file.

  • AFD (Active Format Description) – displays the active picture’s aspect ratio.

  • PR (Parental Rating) – displays the TV parental guidelines rating of the current media content.

To hide the VANC data panel, deselect the "Show VANC" option in the context menu.

Note
To use the embedded VANC data stream feature by the certain Cinegy Capture engine service, enable the VANC data format for this engine via the Cinegy Capture Manager. Refer to the Metadata Processing paragraph to learn how to enable VANC data.

Previewing in Full-Screen Mode

To switch your preview to full-screen mode, double-click anywhere within the preview window or use the F12 key:

preview_Full_screen

The audio level meters, located on the right of the preview window, show the corresponding audio levels.

At the bottom of the window, you will find the set of controls, identical to the ones located on the capture panel, used for your capture source navigation, capture session management, and timecode analysis:
