The Cinegy Capture bundle includes the following components:

Cinegy Capture Manager is installed with the Cinegy Capture server and is responsible for performing the core functions of recording, encoding, controlling, and reacting to devices; it performs all the stages of managing Cinegy Capture engines.

Cinegy Capture Archive Adapter is controlled by Cinegy Capture Manager and allows the user to integrate Cinegy Capture with Cinegy Archive for direct ingest into centralized asset management systems.

Cinegy Capture Control connects to the Cinegy Capture engines to manage the ingest, encoding, and processing of streamed data. It supports both manual and automated file recording and archival ingest using customizable templates. Cinegy Capture Control also provides comprehensive information about engine configurations, system parameters, and real-time recording status, ensuring efficient and reliable management of media capture workflows.

Cinegy Capture Planner is responsible for the automated processing of jobs according to the schedule. It can work with multiple servers simultaneously.

Cinegy Capture Web Control is a scalable panel that provides remote control of capture via a web-hosted application from a standard PC or a mobile device running any operating system.

General

  • improved validation for the "Server" field in the "Connect to Server" dialog to prevent invalid or empty entries (defect 17916)

  • fixed validation for the Master Account Control credentials in "Common settings" (defect 17917)

Capture Planner

  • added a restriction to prevent negative offset values for secondary events (defect 17797)

  • fixed an issue where a post-processing event was applied as a pre-processing event (defect 17730)

  • fixed an issue where the status of the last recurring captured task was reported as "Failed" even when completed successfully (defect 15708)

  • fixed an issue with zooming in and out in the "Month" view

Capture Web Control

  • fixed an issue where the Engine could hang when recording started with a specified In point (defect 17924)

Upgrade Notes

  • Cinegy Capture v26.5 supports upgraded AJA drivers (17.1.x.x–17.5.x.x). Until other Cinegy products, e.g. Cinegy Multiviewer, are updated to support these drivers, customers should avoid running them on the same machine as Cinegy Capture whenever possible.

  • Ensure that the GPU card selected as the video accelerator in Cinegy Capture Manager supports interlace field coding; otherwise, interlaced encoding processing will fail even if an appropriate GPU device is selected for the video encoder.

Important Known Issues

  • Cinegy Archive template creation in Cinegy Capture Control may be validated incorrectly by using additional outputs (defect 17918).

  • MPEG-2 RTP preview does not work with the default bitrate in Cinegy Capture Manager when the UHDp 23.976 video format is used (defect 17932).

  • Created event is not displayed in the "Events" drop-down list in Cinegy Capture Planner and disappears after reopening the recording task (defect 17970).

  • HEVC Intel GPU encoding with 10-bit color depth is incorrectly recorded as 8-bit (defect 17221).

  • HEVC Intel GPU encoding with chroma 4:2:2 is incorrectly recorded as chroma 4:2:0 (defect 17222).

Third-Party Known Issues

  • Customers are advised to consider installing the latest security driver updates from NVIDIA. For details, refer to the NVIDIA Security Bulletin from October 2024 https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5586

  • Two issues were identified with NVIDIA GPU driver version 526.67. The first is a system memory and resource leak when creating and closing threads, reported to NVIDIA support under Incident Report 4027304, and fixed in driver version 535.98. The second issue concerns H.264 interlaced video being incorrectly marked as progressive, which was reported under Incident Report 4005908 and fixed in version 553.35. We recommend using NVIDIA graphics driver version 553.35 or later, which includes fixes for both issues. After upgrading the NVIDIA driver, please verify system resource usage and video encoding behavior. For installation instructions, refer to the NVIDIA Drivers installation article.

  • If you are using GPU-accelerated NVIDIA features, ensure that your settings match the capabilities of your specific board. Native NVIDIA hardware support for interlaced H.264 encoding is available only on Pascal and earlier boards, and on Blackwell GPUs. On other NVIDIA GPUs, interlaced H.264 encoding is provided by Cinecoder implementation.

  • Long MPEG-2 files wrapped in MXF OP1a cannot be played in Adobe Premiere (defect 17475, ticket UBF-384-20038)

  • Blackmagic Design DeckLink video cards occasionally play video without sound or with distorted sound on output. This issue may be related to a PCI bus problem when using the new generation of processors.

    To address the Blackmagic Design DeckLink stability issue, try the following recommendations, and verify whether the audio problem persists after each step:

    1. Install the latest Blackmagic Design DeckLink drivers.

    2. Update the BIOS.

    3. Enable the "Above 4G Decode" setting in the BIOS.

    4. Enable the "Resizable BAR" setting in the BIOS.

    If the issue is resolved after completing any step, the remaining steps can be skipped.
