Working With Titles
Reading time ~4 minutes
Cinegy Title allows you to add multiple layers of automation-controlled, template-based titles, logos, animated graphics, and more. This module addresses simple requirements, such as logo insertion, right through to complex branding with templated information and animated video plates.
Important
|
Ensure that the user role you are working under has the "Edit a CG Template" permission enabled. This is required to create, edit, or import Cinegy Title templates. For more details, refer to the Permissions and Security article in the Cinegy Archive Manager Manual. |
Creating a Template
To create a new Cinegy Title template, follow the steps:
-
Open the DocumentBin in which you want the template to be located.
-
Choose the "New Cinegy Title …" command from the right-click menu or press the
button in the menu bar of the DocumentBin; the "New Title" dialog box appears:
-
Enter a name for the Cinegy Title template.
-
Choose the appropriate TV format for the template. It must be the same format as that of the Sequence in which it will be used; otherwise, you will encounter an insertion error.
-
Having assigned all the parameters, press "OK". The Cinegy Title template will be created in the DocumentBin.
-
Now you can start working with your new template. Double-click it in the DocumentBin, and the following window will be opened:
This Title plug-in window allows you to edit the template or import the previously created Cinegy Title template. These two options are described in detail below.
Editing Cinegy Title Template
After creating the Cinegy Title template, you can edit it using the Cinegy Title Editor, which must be installed separately on your computer.
Press the "Edit template" button, and the full-featured Cinegy Title Editor will be launched, allowing you to modify any parameter of your Cinegy Title template according to your needs. |

To save the Cinegy Title template file, use the "Save as…" command from the "File" menu. The Cinegy Title template can also be saved as a bundle, i.e., the full package containing the Cinegy Title template file and all its related assets will be created. For this, use the "Save as bundle…" command.

Having made changes in the Cinegy Title template, you can apply them by using the "Apply & Close" command from the "File" menu. The external Cinegy Title editor will be closed, and changes will be applied to the template in the DocumentBin. If you do not want to apply changes, use the "Discard & Close" command.
Cinegy Title Template Import
If you have previously created Cinegy Title templates, they can be imported for further use in Cinegy Desktop.
Use the "Import" button on the plug-in toolbar, and the following dialog will be opened: |

In the "Source" field, define the path to the previously created Cinegy Title template. You can do this manually or via the "…" button. Then press the "…" button near the "Target" field, and the following "Select target" window will be opened:

Here navigate to the previously created DocumentBin where the Cinegy Title template will be imported. Press "OK" to select the DocumentBin.
It is possible to select a folder as a target. In this case, a new DocumentBin will be created in the selected folder. In the following dialog, specify the name and media group for the new DocumentBin.

Having defined all parameters, press "OK" to start the import. After import is finished, the Cinegy Title template, along with all media files used in this template, will be placed in the defined DocumentBin.
Adding Template into Sequence
To add the Cinegy Title template to the Sequence, open the DocumentBin containing the Cinegy Title template(s) and drag-and-drop the desired template to Timeline:

It will be added to the video track you select on Timeline.
Template Editing on Timeline
Cinegy Title templates added to the Timeline project can be edited directly from Timeline. This will not affect the original Cinegy Title object in the DocumentBin.
Double-click the CG scene on the corresponding track on Timeline to open it in the integrated Cinegy Title plug-in:

Here you can preview the template using playback controls at the bottom of the window or open the external Cinegy Title Editor for template editing using the "Edit template" button. The panel on the right contains the list of all variables available in the Cinegy Title template.
Note
|
If a variable is not linked to any parameter in the Cinegy Title template, it is disabled for editing in the Cinegy Title plug-in within Cinegy Desktop. |
