Standalone mode of Cinegy Studio is designed to create new playlists and save them in the NCRList format. Existing playlists can also be easily edited, managed, and afterward sent to playout.

Creating or Opening a Rundown

To create a new Rundown or load an existing NCRList playlist into the Rundown panel, press the "Open" button on the main toolbar of the Rundown panel:

A dialog box will appear, allowing you to select an existing NCR playlist or specify a name for a new one:

By default, the newly created Rundown will include an empty Story:

Composing Rundown

The following items can be added to a Rundown: media files in formats supported by Cinegy Air, Cinegy Archive clips and Sequences, MCR items, Stories, Cinegy Title templates, NCR playlists, and special items like live or dummy items.

Depending on the type of item, you can use different methods to add items to the Rundown in standalone mode:

  • Media files, MCR items, Cinegy Titles: by selecting the "Insert" command from the "Item" main menu or the context menu of the Rundown:

    insert
  • Media files and MCRitems: via drag and drop from the shared folder (inventory) using the integrated Cinegy Inventory Browser or third-party file managers (e.g., File Explorer):

    browser and file manager
  • Cinegy Archive clips, Sequences, or Stories: via drag and drop directly from the integrated Cinegy Browser or Cinegy Search:

    browsers and search

Material currently being captured to the Cinegy Archive database can still be added to the Cinegy Studio playlist, even if it remains locked in the database. This feature is particularly handy for quickly adding items that are not yet part of the Rundown. When dragging locked material from Cinegy Browser into the Cinegy Studio Rundown, the actual duration of the item will be shown, and you will be prompted to specify an estimated duration for the item:

    extend_duration
  • All items: via drag and drop from the media pool:

    media pool
  • NCR Playlists: by appending the saved local playlist to the currently edited Rundown:

    insert playlist after
  • Live and dummy items: by using the corresponding buttons on the item editor panel:

    insert live and dummy items

As you add items to the Rundown, they will be arranged sequentially in the order they were added.

If the Cinegy Studio layout is configured to work with specific devices, by default, only the items assigned to those devices will be visible in the Rundown and on the timeline. Stories without items assigned to those devices will be collapsed. You can still add the supported items that are not compatible with the current device configuration; however, these items will not be displayed in the Rundown or on the timeline and will be ignored during playout until the device layout in Cinegy Studio is adjusted to include them. To be able to see the items even for those devices which are inactive and not configured, activate the "Display all events" option in the "Preferences".

Operating

In the Rundown, items within Stories are presented in a playlist format. A single Cinegy Studio client allows opening multiple Rundowns simultaneously, each displayed in a separate tab on the Rundown panel. The Rundown marked with a green indicator is currently active and set to be sent on air, while the others show a gray indicator. You can assign any Rundown as active by switching to its tab and pressing the "Active" button:

Opened_playlists

To close a Rundown, use the button located on the tab with the name of Rundown. The button remains hidden if the tab is not selected, but it will appear when you hover the mouse pointer over the Rundown tab.

Use the arrow_up and arrow_down arrows or the keyboard to define the start time for the selected Rundown in the "Start" field. This value will be displayed in the "Sched. Start" column of the first Rundown item, and the start time for the rest of the items will be calculated according to this value.

Note
The actual start time of the item is not displayed in the playlist if "Global Loop" mode is activated.

Items can be repositioned both in the Rundown playlist or on the timeline using drag-and-drop to place them in the desired position.

All assigned triggers will be kept in the NCR playlist when it is saved.
