To provide full fail-safe broadcasting, the following configuration models are available:

Single Machine Configuration

This configuration model allows you to use a single machine to edit your playlists and perform the playout session.

The following diagram represents the single-machine setup:

Active_1

Setup

Open the Cinegy Air Configurator. Select the "Local" checkbox.

active1_conf

One Cinegy Air Client and One Playout Server

The given configuration model is used in the workflow when the Cinegy Playout instance and the Cinegy Air client are installed on different machines.

The following diagram represents this configuration:

Active_2

Setup

Open the Cinegy Air Configurator. In the configuration window that appears, browse for "Engine 1" to locate the playout server.

active2_conf

One Cinegy Air Client and Two Playout Servers

This is fail-safe playout mode used in the workflow with three separate machines: one with Cinegy Air client, and two servers – master and slave. Both playbacks are independently backed up. There is no single point of failure. If the master playout server is disconnected, broadcasting will automatically be switched over to the slave playout server.

The diagram below represents the given configuration model:

Active_3

Setup

Open the Cinegy Air Configurator and browse for the "Engine 1" location you would like to use as the master playout server. Mark the checkbox next to "Engine 2" and browse for the location of the slave server.

active3_conf

Two Cinegy Air Clients, One Shared Playlist and One Playout Server

The following diagram represents this configuration: two Cinegy Air clients, one shared playlist, and one playout server.

Active_5

The scheme described above provides the simultaneous work of two Cinegy Air clients with the same shared playlist, which is played back from the single connected playout server.

Setup

To configure this mode, set the same playlist path for the master Cinegy Air client and slave Cinegy Air client, then browse the common playout server in the "Engine 1" field.

The "Shared playlist" option should be enabled on both stations. Any changes made to a playlist on the active station will be visible on the other Cinegy Air client.

Shared_playlist

When the "Shared playlist" option is not enabled and a shared playlist is edited on either client station, the applied changes become visible on the other client station only after reconnection. If the playlist was edited on one of the client stations, the other client station should be reconnected and the following dialog appears:

outdated_playlist

The options are to reload the updated playlist to the Cinegy Air playlist panel, leave the loaded playlist, and establish a connection or cancel connecting to Cinegy playout.

Two Cinegy Air Clients, One Shared Playlist and Two Playout Servers

The following diagram represents this configuration: two Cinegy Air clients, one shared playlist, and two playout servers.

Active_4

In the scheme above, the "Change over device" functionality allows switching between the master and slave playout servers. This configuration is the most fail-safe mode. Both Cinegy Air clients and both playout servers are independently backed up.

Setup

To configure this mode, set the same playlist path for both the master Cinegy Air client and the slave Cinegy Air client. Set the fields "Engine 1" and "Engine 2" to be the same for each of the Cinegy Air clients. The playout commutation master/slave is available in this mode.

The configuration for both master and slave Cinegy Air clients is as follows:

active5_conf

Two Cinegy Air Clients and Two Playout Servers

The following diagram represents this configuration: two Cinegy Air clients, two playlists, and two playout servers.

Active_6

This mode is fail-safe: both editing and playback are independently backed up. The change over device will quickly respond in case of the signal point failure. Each Cinegy Air client has its own playlist, which can be immediately started if needed (e.g. to replace one broadcasting scheme with another). The process of switching takes about two seconds.

Setup

To configure this mode, set different playlist paths for the master Cinegy Air client and slave Cinegy Air client, but browse the same playout servers (master and slave) for each Cinegy Air client.

The configuration for each Cinegy Air client is as follows:

Master Cinegy Air client configuration

active6_conf

Slave Cinegy Air client configuration
